This print is a replica of an original limited edion silk-screen serigraph created in 1990.
Raven’s Journey depicts a Raven inĀ flight with an embossed boy transforming into Raven. The Raven is the transformer, trickster and creator. The design is created in the traditional Northwest Coast style.
The double matted prints have a black accent mat with a natural white mat overlay. Each matted print is 8ā³x 10ā³ with a print size of 5ā³x 7ā³.
About the Artist
Marvin Oliver (Quinault/Isleta-Pueblo) is one of the Northwest Coastās foremost contemporary sculptors and printmakers, who has made strides in the art world for the development and recognition of Native American Contemporary Fine Art. Oliverās career spans over 40 years, and he has worked in a variety of media including cedar, bronze, steel and glass. He has also become renowned for the grand size of his sculptures such as the 26 foot long suspended steel and glass piece āMystical Journeyā at the Seattle Childrenās Hospital. Oliverās monumental public works have been installed throughout the state of Washington and the United States, Canada, Japan and Italy. Oliver is also a professor of American Indian Studies at the University of Washington, and serves as Adjunct Curator of Contemporary Native American Art.
